Vehicles In Lothian Affected By Vandals

After a spat of vandalised cars in the Lothian area of Scotland, the police are on the look out for a gang of ‘thugs’ they believe are responsible.

The vehicles, which include a BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes were all damaged during the attacks and the cost to repair the damage is said to be in the thousands. The cars were damaged on Saturday and Sunday between 11pm and 6am.

The BMW had received a scratch in its paintwork from an unknown object, whilst a Toyota in the same street had had a smiling face scratched onto its side.

A Lexus had its bonnet and door panels scratched so badly that the owner was left disgusted and has asked the public to come forward if they saw any of the incident, with the vehicle being valued at £30,000.

The owner of the car commented on the incident.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got up Sunday morning and went outside, I could not imagine anyone who would want to do that to such an expensive car. We live in a cul-de-sac and its usually very peaceful, when the police came they said there had been a gang hanging around that night and believed it could have been them.”

A BMW was also scratched on the same evening, though the damage was not thought to be as severe as that of some of the other cars. The police are asking anybody in the Learmonth crescent or Comely bank areas to assist them with their enquires.

They are asking for any members of the public who have either had their vehicle vandalised, or have any information regarding these incidents to come forward so that they are able to reprimand the perpetrators.
