Iconic Jenson Interceptor Redesigned For 21st Century

The iconic Jenson Interceptor sports car, originally seen during the sixties and seventies, is to undergo a revival thanks to Healey Sports Cars Switzerland.

Healey have teamed up with CPP Global Holdings to develop the new car. All engineering, development and building will be undertaken by CPP with the backing of HSCS.

The new interceptor has been designed by a Coventry based design consultancy who were employed by HSCS.  It will feature a hand crafted aluminium body and all-new aluminium chassis, whilst retaining echoes of the much loved original four seat grand tourer.

News of the reborn classic has caused a stir in the industry and co-owner and founder of CPP, Brendan O’Toole, expressed his excitement at the involvement for his company, and himself personally, in the project.

CPP have plans to build new headquarters in Browns Lane, formerly the Jaguar plant, which is the proposed site for building the vehicle.  Production is due to start in 2012 with customers receiving the first models in 2014.

The benefits of the original interceptor have been maintained with a contemporary edge and up to date technology incorporated to make it appeal to today’s motorists.

Healey Sports Cars Switzerland director, Liam Cardiff, is pleased with the partnership created by CPP and Jenson and is looking forward to the joint effects of their expertise and resources bringing the dream of a modern, beautiful, British built GT car, sporting the Interceptor badge, to life once again.

Originally built in West Bromwich between 1966 and 1976, the first public unveiling of the updated version of this much loved classic is proposed for late 2012.
