Sales Soar For Luxury Car Maker Bentley

bentleyLuxury car-maker Bentley has announced that UK sales have risen by more than 20% by last month.

SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) statistics have shown that 65 cars were sold in November in the UK compared to 54 in the same period last year. It represents a fantastic increase on 20.4% for the Crewe based giant. So far in 2011 Bentley has sold 986 of its luxury fleet which is also up from 945 sales last year, an increase of 4.3%

A spokesperson for the high spec, luxury car firm said ‘Global sales are up around 30% in November which shows a continuing trend of total sales up by around one-third in 2011. Our growth in China is relentless and we have now exceeded 1500 sales in the region for the very first time’.

American and European markets are also on the increase and there is currently a strong demand for the Mulsanne and the spectacular Continental GT. Despite the obvious economic turmoil the UK was still up and the prospects are excellent for the New Year as the new Continental GTC will be reaching dealers from December’.

Workers at its Pym Lane headquarters recently rejected a new pay offer which was equivalent to 4% pay rise in 2012 followed by 3% in 2013. Bentley currently employs nearly 4000 employees at its Cheshire base.

UK November car sales dropped by 4.2% to 134,027 units, although this was 5000 above SMMT’s forecast. Registrations are down 4.5% to 1.822 million units so far this year. SMMT added that caution remains for 2012 even though it looked to exceed its full year forecast of 1.92 million units in 2011.
