Concept Cars To Be Unveiled At Frankfurt Motor show

One of the biggest auto shows of the year, Frankfurt Motor show, starts this week and gives worldwide manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their visions for the future.

Speculation over which manufacturer is to unveil the most impressive model is rife with a number of front runners already being mentioned. Volkswagen NILS have developed a one person concept vehicle which runs on battery power and has been designed to reduce congestion significantly due to its small size.

Forvision will be debuted for Smart and uses nanotechnology with solar power, generated via the roof, whilst Peugeot look to display the HX1, a fuel efficient 6 seater which resembles a squashed MPV.

One Euro Car is an innovation from Opel/Vauxhall which attempts to solve urban transport issues whilst having the option of being speed-limited for younger drivers.

The latest in hybrid technology from Jaguar comes in the shape of the C-X16 with a top speed of 186mph (300km/h), going from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 80km/h (50mph) when switched to the electric only option.

Ford have developed the Evos, featuring concepts which are expected to be incorporated into Ford models in the future with their usual focus on technology.

Citroens Tubik is aiming for bigger, in line with easing the pain of car sharing, and includes seating which is easily modified plus a large interior screen.

The long awaited ‘i’ sub eco friendly brand will be displayed by BMW showcasing their own brand of cutting edge motor technology. Audi’s new ‘elegant and sporty’ electric city car in the form of their latest A2 will appear alongside brand new Audi Urban a hi-tec city runabout.

The show will run from September 15-25 in Frankfurt, Germany.
