Value For Money Saloon Is Coming To The UK

suzukiSuzuki, best known for its smaller cars, has announced that from January they will offer the Kizashi D-segment saloon. The car manufacturer believes that there is currently an opening in the UK for value for money saloon.

Kizashi means ‘a sign of great things to come’ in its native Japan and an initial 500 cars will be made available to UK drivers. The new saloon will comfortably fit 5 people and their luggage.

The manufacturer is hoping to stand out from other saloons because of its i-AWD system which offers outstanding grip and traction during poor weather. When driving is dry weather, the i-AWD operates in two wheel drive mode where minimum torque is used through the rear wheels.

When four-wheel drive is in operation the power is automatically sent to the rear wheels upon acceleration and the torque is split evenly between front and rear wheels. It also remains dependant on other factors including steering input, throttle and wheel slippage. Sensors are used whilst the car is in i-AWD mode to monitor the cars operating conditions.

Based on these results i-AWD then controls the power coupling device so that the correct amount of torque is delivered to both rear wheels. This in turn leads to improved performance in slippery and snowy conditions and also better driving performance on rough roads.

The car has just one optional extra – touch screen Sat Nav. The car comes equipped with 18-inch alloys, CD player, Air-con, seven airbags, MP3, keyless entry and folding heated door mirrors.
